In 1997, the residents of George County made a commitment to improve their healthcare facilities. With a tax of 5 mills, a new emergency room, intensive care unit, surgery unit, registration area, labor and delivery suite, and seven new patient rooms were built.
We are grateful for the support this health system has been given for the past 16 years, and we are asking the residents to continue that commitment by extending the current millage for another 20 years.
This is NOT a new tax; it is simply a continuation of the mills you have been paying since 1997. This additional space is necessary to improve patient care and meet growing demands. Our health system is the strongest it has ever been in its 63 year history, and your continued support will help improve our facility and allow us to grow with our community.
