At George Regional Health System, the pediatric team is dedicated to offering comprehensive care that supports the physical, mental, and developmental health of children at every stage. With a focus on preventive care and early intervention, the pediatric services are designed to address the unique needs of each child, ensuring they receive personalized attention from infancy through adolescence. By fostering a family-centered approach, the health system provides parents with the guidance and support they need to promote their child’s overall well-being and long-term health.

Immunizations: Pediatric care at George Regional Health System includes administering all recommended vaccines to protect children from common but serious illnesses. Immunization schedules are followed according to CDC guidelines, and vaccines are available for infants, toddlers, school-aged children, and teenagers.
Medicaid EPSDT (Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment): This program ensures that children with Medicaid receive regular screenings and healthcare services to detect potential health issues as early as possible. The EPSDT service covers a range of preventive and diagnostic care, making sure children have access to the treatments they need.
School/Head Start/Sports Physicals: Pediatricians conduct thorough physical exams required for school, Head Start programs, or participation in sports. These physicals assess overall health, fitness levels, and development, ensuring children are ready for school and athletic activities.
ADHD Screening: Specialized screenings for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are offered to assess behavioral issues such as difficulty concentrating, hyperactivity, or impulsivity. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to managing ADHD effectively.
Annual Check-ups: Routine well-child visits are offered to monitor the child’s growth, development, and general health. These check-ups are crucial for tracking milestones and identifying any potential issues early.
Anxiety/Depression Screening: Mental health screenings are available to assess anxiety, depression, and other emotional or behavioral concerns in children. These screenings help identify children in need of further evaluation or mental health support.
Autism Screening & Developmental Delays: George Regional Health System provides screenings to identify Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays. Early detection is essential for accessing therapies and interventions that can support a child’s development.
