George Regional Health System Hosts Monthly CPR Classes in 2015

Would you know what to do in a cardiac or breathing emergency? Beginning in January, George Regional Health System nursing staff will hold monthly CPR classes. Classes will be held the last Thursday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Skills Lab (15 London Street). Classes are limited to six students and the cost is $25.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a lifesaving technique useful in many emergencies, including heart attack or near drowning, in which someone’s breathing or heartbeat has stopped “We recently purchased three additional sets of mannequins so that all participants will have their own,” explains Jane Oesterling, R.N., Education Department. “There are adult, toddler, and infant mannequins and participants will have the opportunity to practice life-saving CPR techniques on each.”
