Business Office Insurance Collector:
This position is responsible for ensuring that payments are received in a timely manner for health system services. This position requires the ability to follow all policies and procedures, laws, and regulations.
Job Duties:
– Processing insurance payment and investigating insurance claim denials.
– Filing secondary claims to insurance companies.
– Reviewing accounts which remain unpaid by insurance companies.
– Monitoring credit balances and refunding both insurance and patient refunds as needed.
– Answering some patient phone calls as well as processing patient payments.
The individual should have the following skills in order to handle the job efficiently:
– Experience working in computer programs.
– Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel skills.
– Good verbal and written communication skills.
– Organization skills.
– Ability to operate an adding machine.
– Time management skills.
– Understanding of Basic Mathematics.
This candidate should have at least 1-2 years of experience in a medical setting.
