Hospital Compliance is responsible for overseeing compliance efforts and monitoring the billing processes. We must meet the expectations and requirements of those who regulate our business and pay our claims. George Regional Health System will abide by legal requirements, policies, and contracts and focus on compliance with fraud and abuse laws, Medicare and Medicaid billing requirements and third party payer regulations. The Hospital Compliance Program serves as a means to review billing processes (through auditing), assist in developing corrective action plans and developing effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable federal and state laws as well as requirements of federal, state and private health plans. The subcommittee meets and discuss audit findings and make recommendations.
