After driving by the beautiful new structure for the last few months, the community now has the opportunity to see what’s inside. George Regional Health & Rehab will hold an Open House on Sunday, June 1st from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Everyone is invited and cake, coffee and punch will be served.
Adding 21,000 square feet, the new wing gives nursing home residents six more private rooms all with large private bathrooms, a spacious activities room and kitchen, and a large therapy room. An additional 18 rooms are planned for the future. “The addition is really beautiful. All of the large windows let in so much natural light, which helps make the facility seem more home-like,” points out Joy Turner, George Regional Health & Rehab Administrator.
Offering both long and short term care, the facility provides continuity in services—from hospital care to inpatient rehabilitation. “Access to the hospital is invaluable to our patients. Being connected by simply a hall eases many of our family’s minds. And our patients receive care from the same therapists they’ve seen while in the hospital. Keeping that relationship for our patients is really helpful in the healing process,” Turner explains.
