George Regional Health & Rehab Receives License for Additional Patient Beds

Thursday, August 28, 2014

In the fall of 2011, George Regional Health & Rehab opened with room for 19 patients and admitted its first resident. With the recent approval of an extended license, the long and short term nursing care center can now accommodate 41 residents. “As this county continues to grow, it’s our mission to serve our community’s growing healthcare needs. We are excited to be able to offer more room for our patients and their families,” said Paul Gardner, CEO, George Regional Health System.

Offering long and short term nursing care, the facility provides continuity in services—from hospital care to inpatient rehabilitation. The new 7,000 square foot wing, which opened in June, includes six additional resident rooms with private bathrooms, a generous activities room, and a separate therapy area. Along with the new wing, 13 additional hospital patient rooms were added—all with large, private bathrooms.

“Access to the hospital is invaluable for our patients. Being connected by simply a hall eases many of our family’s minds. And our patients receive care from the same therapists they’ve seen while in the hospital. Keeping that relationship for our patients is really helpful in the healing process,” explains Joy Turner, Administrator.

At George Regional Health & Rehab, residents receive:
