Patients Can Now View Their Medical Record Online
George Regional Health System now offers patients the option to access select portions of their medical records online, through the hospital’s website www.georgeregional.com. The patient health portal allows patients to more conveniently view, manage, transmit and download certain medical records such as lab test results, immunizations, procedures, allergies, prescribed medications and hospital bills.
Patients can access the portal from home once they have registered for an account and established a secure username and password. Inpatients with a valid email address can access the portal by registering for an account during the hospital admission process. Patients can also self-enroll from home once they have registered for an account and established a secure username and password.
“While the health portal is not a replacement for personal contact, it is a valuable tool that will allow our patients to access their records whenever they want or need,” explains Anthoney Fryfogle, Director of Information Technology for the health system.
The portal is a personalized, safe, secure and completely confidential communication link between the patient and the hospital caregivers. Soon, patients will even be able to pay their bills online.
